Gratitude Day 20
I am a people-person. I love spending time with others, and go a little crazy when I'm not around other people for a while. I love learning about people and cultivating relationships. Even though I like spending time alone, I am recharged largely through connection with other people. There's nothing like a hug from a friend you haven't seen in a while, and the excited chatter while you catch up on life events together.
The journal prompt for today is, "What do you love about one or more of your friends?"
I have several friends that understand me in a deeper way than anyone else. I am beyond grateful for these people. These are the ones that I come to when I'm upset, that listen to my coffee-induced rants, and who let me FaceTime them when I get too stressed.
As I reflect on my friendships, I am grateful for authenticity. For the friends who tell me like it is, and refuse to sugarcoat things. I love that my friends are encouragers, supporters, dreamers. They are learning how to navigate life just as I am. They motivate me when I can't motivate myself anymore. They are my biggest inspiration.
I love that my friends value laughter. I am thankful for the nights spent laughing and smiling and making up stupid jokes.
My friends are sunshine in dark times. They are calm in the middle of storms. They encourage me and dream with me and cry with me. They pray for me and motivate me and walk through life with me.
I am immensely thankful for my friends, especially as the holiday season approaches. They offer support and advice and prayer and laughter throughout the entire year, not just when it's convenient.
Friendships are beautiful. They inspire us and teach us and encourage us to continue growing. Iron sharpens iron. I am so, so blessed to have many iron-sharpening friends!
