Invite
The prompt for this Friday is "Invite."
Ready? 3... 2... 1... Go.
While Five Minute Fridays aren't really a part of my Honest & Unfiltered: 31 Days of Tough Stuff series, I really loved this word, invite.
And I think it's important to talk about.
There are so many different contexts which we can use the word "invite." It can have a good intention behind it: inviting a friend to church, being invited to an outing, or even inviting others into your home for a meal.
Inviting can be a beautiful thing... And sometimes it can be a less-than-stellar thing.
My question for the day: What am I inviting into my life that helps me serve others, or serve His purposes?
Am I inviting negativity in, with my actions and words?
Am I speaking positivity and life over the situations I'm facing, allowing the light of His love to overtake whatever I am dealing with?
Am I being a conduit of peace, inviting in others that are hurting into the safe place of His wonderful arms?
Those are tough questions, friends, but ones that I think are worth looking at and thinking about seriously.
What are we inviting into our lives?
In order for something to take hold in our lives, we are the ones that have to invite it in- whatever that may be.
As we continue this journey on our 31 days of tough stuff, may we be unafraid to answer the hard questions. May we continually invite Him into our every space: even the ones that aren't as pretty and polished as we'd like them to be.
